Description
Social Sciences/Practical Vocational Nursing 202 will prepare the practical nursing student to recognize and apply the principles of human relationships and professional behavior into their nursing practice. Ethical and legal responsibilities such as advance directives, advocacy, professional boundaries, confidentiality, client rights, organ donation, and informed consent will be discussed. Leadership and management skills will be covered including scope of practice, delegation, and incident reporting as well as grounds for disciplinary action. Employability skills will be explored in the transition from student to graduate nurse as well as the expectations of team nursing and continuing education and competencies.
